Study Skills for Neurodiverse Learners
This course covers a variety of subjects including, classroom strategies, note-taking, test preparation, and essay writing.
-The primary goal is to allow students to restructure their study approach to alleviate stress and improve self-efficiency.
-Many of the strategies included serve to aid students with ADHD and Dyslexia in managing their time to meet assignment deadlines.
-Brain-based learning and scientific research inform this course’s tips and strategies.
Meet your course instructor:
Diagnosed at 18 with dyslexia and ADHD, Matthew has learned and developed strategies for utilizing the strengths of neurologically diverse students to help them succeed in traditional academic environments. Matthew has experience as a tutor and an academic coach for students with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences. He is passionate about advocating for the needs of neurodiverse students in the public school system.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science in Community and Leadership Development from the University of Kentucky. Matthew is experienced in community development work and has hosted Academic Coaching courses for a variety of students to help them develop time management skills and self-sufficiency.
*We want this workshop to be as accessible as possible so it is a pay-what-you-can course. We have to set a minimum price of $5 to cover site fees, but please reach out to us if you need further financial assistance.
